ARTErra is a private multidisciplinary artist residency located in a small rural village in central Portugal.
Since 2010, it has welcomed artists from around the world seeking time,
focus, and transformation in an environment where silence and encounter
coexist.
Each residency is tailored to the artist: some periods offer full
solitude, others allow creative exchange with fellow residents.
ARTErra provides an immersive rural setting — a place to pause, breathe,
and create in dialogue with nature, architecture, and community.
The residency aims to support authentic artistic processes, fostering reflection, experimentation, and connection with place.
Programming includes open-studio moments, optional community interactions, and visits to local craftspeople.
